Michael was born in 1986 and grew up in Pittsboro, NC.
Racing has been his passion
since he was a baby. At age 2 he would sit in front of the TV watching
NASCAR races
with his father. His first racing hero was Davey Allison. For
several years the Alabama Gang
was Michael's favorite topic of conversation. Now Michael is racing on the
Allison Legacy National Circuit and
has had the opportunity to get to know many members of Davey's family including
his Uncle Donnie
Allison and Donnie's sons,
Kenny, Ronald and Donald who are the sanctioning body and creators of the
Allison Legacy racing series.
Very few fans can grow up to become friends with their racing heroes and their
family.
Michael saw his first live NASCAR Grand National Busch race from inside the pit
area at
Darlington, SC when he was 12 years old thanks to a good friend who's husband was the Crew Chief for one of the Roush Racing teams, Bobby Leslie.
Michael was able to wander all
around the pit area, watching both Winston Cup and Grand National Busch teams at
work. During the
Winston Cup practice session, Michael watched the action from the top of the
team hauler with the
Crew Chief and listening to the team and driver's comments on the radio headset.
A dream come true for a race fan!! Michael also met some of his racing
heroes like Richard Petty and Johnny Benson. Michael received his first race car when he was 13 and began driving in the Allison
Legacy Series
one week after his 14th birthday. As the 2006 Racing Season begins,
Michael is focused on
winning the Championship.
